Nose: Nutty and fruit-forward. In the foreground, there’re notes of barley sugar, marzipan, vanilla ice cream, apricot, hazelnut, and ginger orange marmalade. Time reveals a light touch of black tea leaves.
Palate: Predominantly sweet. Honey, toffee, orange peel bitterness, and ground white pepper. It tastes as if you’ve already put too much water in a whisky. The nose is much more interesting than the taste.
Finish: A dry, short-to-medium finish, with a mix of bitterness, oakiness, and peppery tang.
Final Thought: Everything about this whisky is basic. It’s approachable, but there’s not much development. What you get in the first few seconds is all you’ll get. I don’t see myself drinking this again after finalizing this review. If you’re interested in trying anything from Flora & Fauna, I’d recommend the Benrinnes 15 Year Old. That one costs £3 more but tastes way much better.
Girl with Cask Strength Score: 78/100.
